In its purist form, a mantra is about a sound that when repeated, can make for a mystical experience. The words are not necessarily important; a mantra can be a way to connect to the sacred without words.


I am a theologian. In the past, many of my paintings would be ABOUT theology, but I wanted ontological transcendance; for the paintings to BE my understanding of the holy - an expression of the sacred without form, entering the holy without understanding.
